Geraldine R.S. Mataka's practice focuses on international commercial transactions, with emphasis on aviation finance, political risk insurance and project finance.
Ms. Mataka's assignments have included: representation of the U.S. Export-Import Bank in the documentation, negotiation and closing of numerous asset-based financing transactions, valued at well over US $3 billion, for the acquisition of more than 200 commercial jet aircraft; representation of lending bank in the financing of a geothermal field and power plant rehabilitation project in Nicaragua; representation of microfinance organization in various matters relating to the transformation of non-profit entities to regulated financial institutions overseas; representation of air transport IT company in acquisitions, licensing and general corporate matters; representation of intellectual property consulting firm on general corporate matters, ranging from employment issues to negotiation of service contracts; representation of concession company in transaction involving privatization of international airport in Belize; and representation of large cruise company in development of political risk insurance coverage.
Prior to joining robert wray PLLC, Ms. Mataka was an associate in the Business Law Group of Holland & Knight LLP where she worked on a wide range of transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, trade and project finance, cross-border commercial agreements and general corporate matters.
Ms. Mataka received her B.A. in Foreign Affairs from the University of Virginia and earned her J.D. from George Mason University School of Law. She is admitted to practice in the District of Columbia.
