Hans J. Peters is the Senior Adviser for Infrastructure Development, Financing and Management to robert wray PLLC. Mr. Peters’ professional career spans 40 years during which he has worked at every level of international project finance for a diverse portfolio of customers. For 26 years he served in various line and management functions at The World Bank Group. Prior to joining The World Bank and following his retirement from The World Bank, Mr. Peters lived and worked in a variety of emerging economies. His special focus is on the maritime and port industries, including ocean carriers, shipyards, multimodal transport operators, and port authorities. Mr. Peters serves on advisory boards in several country governments, specialist financing institutions, professional associations, and universities. He has been lead arranger and chief advisor for some US$ 8.5 billion maritime industry related investments in more than 40 countries in Asia, the Former Soviet Union, and throughout Latin America. Mr. Peters currently works with numerous private entities interested in transport infrastructure financing and management.

Mr. Peters is an adjunct faculty member at the School of Public Policy, George Mason University, and at the Institute for Transport Studies, University of California at Berkeley. He is a widely recognized author and lecturer on project finance structuring and analysis of developments in the global maritime industry.

Mr. Peters’ academic credentials include MSc degrees in civil engineering (Kiel University), economics (UC Berkeley), and business administration (University of Virginia). He is a fellow of several professional societies in maritime economics, marine engineering, and naval architecture and is fluent in French, German, and Spanish.
